An art dance used for spiritual healing in the Malay culture in the east coast of Malaysia namely Kelantan and Terengganu. Other variants also exist in in southeast asian such Riau, Indonesia and Pattani,Thailand - a symbol that we were part of a greater civilization that existed in the Southeast Asia. As the Malays move forward through the new millenium, it tries to cut-itself of its' pagan and animistic roots. Dewa-dewi, gods and goddesses, are slowly forgetten, rarely spoken of. I hope that the dance itself takes on a new breadth of life and continues on being perform as part of our culture and heritage. A big thank you to the organiser,Pusaka, for sharing a piece of our history.
